First winter shoot of the year. Michigan threw us a curve ball just days before this shoot, and all the sudden it was quite cold. Getting into this time of year, I’m reminded of just how awesome Michigan models are. Braving cruel winters just to get the shot, and with as much enthusiasm. This was also my first shoot with Emily, and she knocked it out cold. Aside from starting an hour late (which I’m quickly getting used to in this business), and the grueling fifteen degree, snow covered field, we walked away with some great shots.

It has been a busy couple of months! Between editing, photo shoots, weddings, moving into a new apartment, scripting, storyboarding, reading, coffee shops, breweries, and hanging out with friends, I just haven’t had a minute to sit down and update this blog! Changes are in motion however, and I will be adding a few new features to keep you entertained more regularly. Speaking of which, is there anything you would like to see on this blog?
I know this post is a little large, but I hope it’s not too much to take in at once! Enjoy!
Please check out the new updates to the official website of Justin Leveque Photography.
Also, take a look at the new logo, soon to be incorporated!

And when you’re done there, expect an update back here, that will recap the last few months that I’ve been too busy to update!

Rolled out of bed early on a Saturday morning to meet up with the stunning Maria VanderMolen and the incredibly talented Dan Parker of dPark Fashion. I have had the pleasure of working with both before, but it would be the first time Maria and Dan would meet. We picked Starbuck’s to start the morning off, as we were scheduled to shoot at eight o’clock to beat the heat, which ended up topping off somewhere near ninety-five that day. Not only would Dan be doing the make up, and providing access to a great location, but I was also pleased to see he had brought some of his fashion for show. The last couple shots in the series, is his own creation. After the prep work, we finally got to start setting up the shots, which took place at the top of a giant gravel pile. Now for those of you who aren’t aware of the dangers inherit of being on top of gravel piles, I will inform you of a few things. Heels sink, umbrellas fly and collapse, tennis shoes slip, gravel slides and flies, and models should be aware of their placement as the ride down would be painful…Maria was a pro, handling herself on top an unsteady crumbling hill, Dan as always, added the zing to the shoot along with providing some tunes to work to, and I, aside from bags and shoes full of gravel, came out with some great shots. Thanks for another successful shoot guys!

Always look forward to pictures with the Colson family. If you look back in my blog, you can really see these kids grow. Only being twenty-six myself, I find it hard to believe how much they have changed since I started taking pictures back when there was just Liam. Where’s the time go? Anyhow, as always Alli, Wyatt, and Liam were bursting with energy and once again I struggled to keep up. We had perfect weather yet again, which lead to eventually these guys having a riot in the pool, spraying their father Nick (wish I still had my camera on me!), with the hose, and causing all kinds of mischief. All in all, I love being with this family, they keep me on my toes, but at the end of the day glad I get to go home without them!
